While there is no cure for DMD, there are many treatments that alievate the symptoms and better the lives of those afflicted.

By keeping the body flexable and mobile, the symptoms of DMD can be greatly alievated. Range of motion exercises loosen up tedons that otherwise might shorten prematurely.

Braces are also an effective means of preventing further muscle dmage and providing those affected by DMD with some support. It keeps the limbs flexable and is another way of coping with DMD.

Some medications have also proven effective. Catabolic steriods have shown a definate prevention of loss of moter functions in those suffering from DMD. However, these drugs also come with some side effects that include wieght gain, lose of bone and muscle tissue, thinning of skin, and raising of blood pressure.
